Cousin Caley's Poem for Ash

Shine your light down on me

Shine your light down on me
I miss you taking care of me

I look in the sky and there you are,
As you know everyone misses you by far.

I remember your big smile,
I wish we would've been closer than those many miles

When I sit down and think about you I cry, smile, and even laugh.
I never thought you would leave.

I remember who you used to be
The laughter we shared
and wonder what you have become.
Where are you now?
Where did you go?
When the body is left behind
and the spirit is left to fly?

Your spirit has become for me
a guardian angel watching over me.
I remember your big cheeks after your widom teeth were out.
Boy that was such a great laugh.

I remember you.
You are with me
and I am not afraid.

As the days come and go and the world moves on,
I know you're still here; you'll never be gone.
